Trinity Carlson might be having the worst day ever. And that was before she started drinking in a dive bar, right across from her ex and his new girlfriend. So when she finally decides enough is enough, she grabs hold of a hot, blond stranger and gives him the kiss of his life.
Walker Lund never expected that a chance at love would hit him right on the mouth. Since the moment his brother decided to settle down, Walker has been dodging his family’s hopes that he’ll do the same. He’s never been interested in following in anyone’s footsteps. But when he discovers his sexy assailant has given him a fake name and number he suddenly finds himself in the mood for a little hot pursuit…
The Need You series by Lorelei James shares contemporary romances surrounding the Lund siblings and ya’ll know how much I adore these type of reads. Just What I Needed shares Walker Lund’s romance with Trinity Carlson an up and coming, slightly narcotic but sweet artist. Laughter, hot sexy scenes, and family intervention made this a deliciously warm and fuzzy read that I simply devoured in a single evening.
I loved how this story began and the way it highlights how quirky our heroine is. Do you ever have a strong impulse to touch, lick or um kiss something? How about sauntering up to a guy at a bar, and place a red-hot kiss on him? That is exactly what Trinity did. The two connect but she ends up giving him her old disconnected telephone number and he thinks her name is Amelia. Ooops! Yep, did I mention Trinity is a refreshingly quirky? She is also a fuller figured heroine who felt incredibly genuine.
Walker Lund cannot stop thinking about the girl who kissed him, even if he is pissed about the bad number. I adored Walker from the onset. He is not a part of the family business and co-owns a construction company. I love a man in jeans who works with his hands. Our hero is the go to guy for his siblings and cousins making him especially charming.
Fate intervenes and they begin a delicious, slow-burning romance. I loved the slow build; the heated kisses, banter, and insightful conversations. Friends, family and Trinity’s quirks made for some interesting situations. James slowly turned up the heat, allowing us to enjoy the dance before these two finally tumbled. It was incredibly sexy and worth the wait. We get a little drama, but I enjoyed the way James combined growth and family interventions to bring this couple together again.
I adore Walker’s mother and laughed at her conversations with her son and of course Trinity. Walker is a one woman, family man and he really falls for Trinity. I love that he gets her, does not want to change her and willingly gives her space. These two had fantastic chemistry and had me rooting for them. I love when that happens.
Readers looking for a series surrounding family with heat will enjoy Just What I Needed and Need You series. Each of these books can work as standalone, but I like getting to know all the players.
Melt your kindle moments laced with heart, family and fun make Just What I Need a fantastic beach read.
